10-9-2017 PS--7 Period Schedule--Turning Fear Into Fuel, Fear Video Presentations Assignment

  • On Wednesday, October 11, 1st period, 3rd period, and 4th period will NOT be held in W318. Please report to the Countryside Learning Area (Next to W216). DO NOT come to W318 as students will be taking the PSAT and we don't want to interrupt them. Thanks.

  • Watch "Turning Fear Into Fuel"
    • Activity--Turning Fear Into Fuel
      • As you watch, think of the following questions:
      1. How do you react when you encounter fear?
      2. Do you fall into a "worst case scenario" downward spiral?
      3. What can you do to begin changing your attitude about encountering your fear?
  • Share Fear Video Clip Example
    • Like the Glossophobia Video Clip, find a commercial or brief video clip that deals with the fear of Public Speaking or some sort of speaking situation. Write the website in your notebook and/or bring it on your digital device.
    • Activity--Fear Video Clip Group Sharing
      • Create 4 Columns:
        • Student Name
        • Video Clip Title and/or Subject
        • Brief Description of Video Clip
        • Ranking (Rank Favorite to Least Favorite)
      • If you are unable to finish viewing these videos, share the url's with your group. Bring completed Fear Video Clip Group Sharing to class on Monday.
  • Fear Video Assignment Presentations
    • The X-Factor Video Clip

        • Share TWO Things Related to Our Fear Unit from the Video

        • Include an Impactful Closing Statement that Gives a Sense of Finality
