  • Reminder: When you arrive to class, please open the blog on your digital device.

    • Colors Speech Presentations
      • Speech Day Procedures
        • Timer
          • Give hand signals to speaker.
          • Tell Mr. Buckley time when he asks after the speech.
        • Pre-Speech
          • Make sure Mr. Buckley can access your outline online.
        • During Speech
          • Be a respectful and encouraging listener.
            • Listen quietly.
            • Put away phones and other digital devices--I should not see phones.
            • No homework.
            • No talking.
            • Give eye contact and attention to the speaker.
        • After Speech
          • Activity #13--Student Colors Speech Analysis
            • Create 5 Columns:
              • Student Name
              • Primary Color
              • Put Up #1
              • Put Up #2
              • Growth Area #1
          • Grading Rubric
            • Activity #14--Colors Speech Grade
              • You will receive your grade at the end of class.
              • If you have any questions or concerns, please discuss with Mr. Buckley before you leave class.
              • Store your grading rubric in your folder.

      • If you HAVE NOT presented your speech:
        • Submit Colors Speech Outline on TurnItIn.com (Due on Your Speech Day)
        • Bring Completed Note Cards (Due on Your Speech Day)
        • Practice Colors Speech in Preparation for Presentations (Due BEFORE Your Speech Day)
        • EXTRA CREDIT (2 BONUS POINTS)--Bring signed note from parent that you presented your speech. (Due on Your Speech Day)
      • If you HAVE presented your speech:
        • Complete Colors Speech Reflection (Due When All Speeches Complete)
          • Activity #15--Colors Speech Reflection
            • Congratulations! You've completed your Colors Speech! Please take a few minutes to reflect on your speech and respond to the following questions:
              • What was your favorite part of the Colors Activity & Colors Speech? Why?
              • What surprised you about your speech? Perhaps you learned something about yourself or you found that you did well or poorly in an area you did not expect.
              • When you reflect back on the Colors Activity and Colors Speech, what is one thing you will take away from this experience that will help you improve your public speaking skills in the future? Explain.
      • Bring note cards, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, or Kleenex and one of the following items to leave in the classroom for community  consumption: glue sticks, pens, pencils, highlighters, or dry erase markers.
