8-29-2014 PS--Colors Speech Work

PLAN

  • Welcome, Attendance & Daily Plan
  • Collect Supplies
  • Check Homework
    • Complete Colors Inventories #1 & #2. (Due Friday)
    • Fill in the totals from Inventories #1 & #2 at the top of the Colors Information Sheet. (Due Friday)
    • Read about ALL COLORS (Green, Gold, Blue, & Orange) on the Colors Information Sheet. Underline or Highlight all characteristics that are true of you. (Due Friday)
    • Read about ALL COLORS (About Oranges, About Golds, About Blues, & About Greens) on the next two pages. Underline or Highlight all characteristics that are true of you. (Due Friday)
    • Bring note cards, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, or Kleenex and one of the following items to leave in the classroom for community  consumption: glue sticks, pens, pencils, highlighters, or dry erase markers. (Due Friday)

      • Designate a facilitator
        • The facilitator is in charge of mediating the discussion. He/she should help the group stay focused and also assign duties when needed. (This role is EXTREMELY important for worthwhile discussions.)
      • Speech Group Sharing
        • FIRST, let each group member guess what your primary color is? 
          • Each group member should guess your primary color.
          • Each group member should give ONE REASON (trait) to support their guess.
        • According to the inventories, what is your primary color?
        • After reading the descriptions of each color, what do you think is your primary color? Does it match your inventory results.
        • Share a real life example that supports what you think your primary color is.

HOMEWORK (OFFICIAL at 3:10 P.M. Each Day)
    • Complete Colors Evidence Sheet (Due Tuesday)
      • There are 8 boxes.
      • You must fill out a box for each color (Blue, Gold, Green, Orange--4 boxes).
      • You can then choose any set of colors for the remaining 4 boxes.
    • Activity #7--DATE--Colors Speech Attention Getters
      • Think about and list 3 possible attention getters for your Colors Speech. (Due Tuesday)
