- TEAM NATHAN Update
- Game of the Week
- Homework Check - Activity #28--2/20/2014--Personal Fear ANALYSIS Journal
- Break down a DIFFERENT fear experience using the elements that we discussed in today's case studies:
- What were you actually afraid of?
- On a scale of DISQUIET to ALARM, rate your fear level beforehand.
- What physical fear reactions did you experience?
- Did you realize that these physical fear reactions were normal?
- Did you stay and deal with the situation or run from it?
- Did any previous experience help you get through the fear? If so, what was it?
- How would your perspective of this fear situation be different now that we've examined fear?
- Personal Fear Inventory Results
- Group Totals
- Class Totals
- Watch "Turning Fear Into Fuel"
- As you watch, think of the following questions:
- How do you react when you encounter fear?
- Do you fall into a "worst case scenario" downward spiral?
- What can you do to begin changing your attitude about encountering you fear?
HOMEWORK (OFFICIAL at 3:10 P.M. Each Day)
- Activity #29--2/21/2014--Turn Fear Into Fuel
- Watch the Ted Talk Turning Fear Into Fuel
- Think of something that gives you fear and anxiety. Choose a topic that you may encounter in your every day life (asking someone out to prom, taking a test, performing a public speech). Then write a journal entry that addresses the three questions posed in "Turning Fear Into Fuel." Try to write about these as vividly and realistically as possible. No Doomsday scenarios!
- What if I fail, and how will I recover?
- What if I do nothing?
- What if I succeed?
- If you would like to join us on Saturday for the Walk for Diabetes at the Mall of America, please meet at 8:15 a.m. We will be meeting in the area near the American Girl store, the Sponge Bob statue, and the log chute ride.
